The castle was founded in the early 14th century. The ruins stand on a rock above the Prunéřovský brook. Scenes for the TV series 30 Cases of Major Zeman were filmed here. We organize various cultural and social events. The building includes a period restaurant. There is also a parking lot.

Klášterec nad Ohří Castle with its park is part of the town's conservation area in the centre of the old town.
