The South Bohemian Museum in České Budějovice is one of the most important cultural institutions in South Bohemia. It was founded in 1877 as one of the oldest regional museums.
We are an association that takes care of the operation and repairs of the Kruslov apiary. We provide guided tours. We organize cultural events, lectures and courses.
Operation of a museum. There is a permanent exhibition of folk painted furniture from South Bohemia and an exhibition Fish and People, Rosenbergs and Pondkeepers in South Bohemia and Waldviertel.
In the museum there is an exhibition of the history of the postal industry in our territory from 1526 to the present day. There is a collection of 19th century carriages, carts and sleighs, historical postal uniforms, mailboxes, payroll and ploughing machines.
The paradise courtyard of the former monastery was reconstructed as part of the renovation of the building in 2019. The paradise courtyard is the venue for a number of cultural events and is open for free in the summer season together with the Ambit Gallery.
At one time, up to 32 horses were stabled in the stables. Today, this wonderful space is used mainly for concerts. You can also visit the stables as part of the C tour.
