The Petřiny branch is a library and a modern cultural centre with its own multifunctional hall (cinema, lectures, conferences and other programmes). For rest, relaxation and study, there are workplaces, a coworking desk and four club rooms that can be reserved.

The library was founded along with the museum in 1888. Offering library services with a focus on specialist literature. The size of the library's collection is around 40,000 volumes and is divided into collection and specialised sections. There is also a reading machine. We provide reprographic services for researchers.

We offer loan, photocopying, internet and information services. In our catalogue you will find fiction and non-fiction books, over 8000 adult titles and about 4800 children's volumes. Creative workshops and themed afternoons for children and young people are held in the club room.
