We run the Institute of Clinical Biochemistry. We provide diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive care and are engaged in scientific research activities or educational activities in the field of clinical biochemistry.

We perform therapeutic hemapheresis procedures - by appointment, after consultation of the referring physician with the Blood Centre physician. Therapeutic plasmapheresis (TPE), erythrocytapheresis and thrombocytapheresis, leukocytapheresis, granulocyte apheresis and immunoadsorption.

The Institute of Laboratory Diagnostics provides its services in the areas of diagnostic and therapeutic care, educational and scientific research activities. They organize regional and national seminars for their specialties and for other clinical disciplines in the FNO.

Operation of the anti-seizure and sleep laboratory.

The specialised neuromuscular outpatient clinic and EMG laboratory is dedicated to the diagnosis and subsequent therapy of peripheral nervous system disorders.

The DNA diagnostics laboratory performs postnatal and prenatal molecular genetic tests.

The cytogenetic laboratory performs classical postnatal cytogenetic examinations, prenatal cytogenetic examinations and prenatal and postnatal molecular genetic examinations by fluorescence in situ hybridization.

In the laboratory we perform testing of HLA, HPA, HNA and some blood systems, e.g. ABO, Rh, Kell, Kid, Duffy by PCR - SSP (polymerase chain reaction with sequence-specific primers).

The laboratory carries out immunohematological tests on blood donors and their components (AB0 and RhD groups, other Rh and Kell antigens, irregular antierythrocytic antibodies), as well as the determination of blood groups (AB0 and RhD) and irregular antierythrocytic antibodies in pregnant women, mothers and children after childbirth.

The laboratory provides testing of erythrocyte blood groups and anti-erythrocyte antibodies in order to ensure safe hemotherapy and to determine the risk of immunohematological complications in pregnancy.

The Bacteriological Control Laboratory performs sterility testing of transfusion products and microbiological testing of swabs.

We ensure the preparation of suitable erythrocyte transfusion products for recipients with complicated immunohematological findings as part of a complete pre-transfusion examination (group AB0, RhD and irregular anti-erythrocyte antibodies in the recipient, cross-testing).

The laboratory performs testing of infectious markers in donors, pregnant women and patients (HBsAg, anti HCV, Ag/Ab HIV, syphilis).
