The Ratenice Volunteer Fire Brigade is an association that organizes cultural events in the village, works with youth, is involved in fire sports and the unit provides fire protection and helps in emergencies.

The current volunteer fire brigade is still actively involved in Vrbčany. The fire brigade regularly participates in district and regional competitions. Occasionally, they intervene in small fires in the village, collect scrap metal and organize a firefighters' ball.
