More than a thousand students study at the faculty, of which mainly students of master's and doctoral programmes are regularly involved in creative activities and the implementation of their own research activities. The study is carried out in a credit system based on the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS).

We are located in one of the buildings of the Faculty of Philosophy and Natural Sciences of the Silesian University in Opava, which was reconstructed for the needs of artistic disciplines with a focus on film and theatre production.

Art school and high school offering 4-year diploma and 2-year post-secondary courses in Multimedia, Graphics and Web Design, Design, Art and Metal, Sculpture, Design and Space, 3 D Space. Emphasis on individual approach. Maximum of 4-18 students per class.

High school offering courses of study in Film Production, Interior Design, Photography, Graphic Design, Management and Production. The school also offers distance learning.

Private vocational college providing three-year courses in Film Production, Photography, Graphic Design, Animation and Post-Production, Interior Design, Production, Screenwriting and Media Communication.

State-run art college for 60 pupils providing three-year courses in interactive graphics, drawing and illustration in media.

State secondary art school for 140 pupils providing four-year courses in graphic design and ceramic and porcelain art.

We offer full-time and combined studies in 17 faculties of humanities and science. The university also has 3 university institutes and 6 other departments for educational, scientific, research and development activities or 5 university-wide purpose-built facilities.

The Academy provides studies in the arts in three faculties of music, theatre and film. It provides the opportunity to use the services of the library.

The faculty provides teaching in nine departments in the field of film and television arts and with a focus on sound, animation, documentary and more. It operates a centre for audiovisual studies.
