The Duchcov Chateau was built in 1675-1685 by Jan Bedřich of Wallenstein according to the plans of the architect Jean Baptiste Mathey on the site of an older Renaissance Lobkowitz mansion. The late Baroque chateau Vrbičany was built in 1786-1789 by František Kressel of Kvaltenberk. The ruined but reviving castle offers the first reconstructed interiors, the largest exhibition of carriages in the Czech Republic, models of castles and chateaus, paintings, etc. In the castle park you can try your hand at panning for Czech garnets.
