The Prácheň Museum has been housed in the historic building of the former royal castle since 1902. The museum represents the cultural and natural heritage of the Prague Region and Písek. The museum also includes a professional library, a museum shop and an accompanying programme of lectures and events for the public.

We operate a fortification museum. The museum consists of a total of 8 light fortification buildings built in the summer of 1938 to defend Czechoslovakia from Nazi Germany. The tour is with an expert guide. In the building you can buy literature about Czechoslovak fortifications, postcards and souvenirs.

The museum is dedicated to the history of railway transport in the Pilsen region and offers photographs and written materials from the history of the railway, a replica of a station transport office, interactive educational elements and models of stations and lines. The museum presents military, manufacturing, transport and sport traditions of Czech and Czechoslovak aviation. World aircraft are also exhibited here. Some aircraft are not covered and are displayed in an outdoor exhibition.

A modern interactive exhibition "Crime and Punishment", commemorating the horrors of the Nazi occupation of the Czech lands.
