The National Museum is an important Czech museum institution. It collects, researches and presents artefacts from natural science, history and art, which it exhibits in 15 buildings and protects in several separate depositories. It has more than 20 million objects in its collections.

We manage the original interior of the apartment of the Palacký and Rieger families. You will find here collections of art, historical and family portraits and paintings by Josef Mánes, Julius Mařák and sculptures by J. V. Myslbek.

The museum presents the life's work of the world-renowned filmmaker Karel Zeman and his film tricks that made Czech cinema famous in the 20th century. The Museum is a cultural institution preserving a rich collection dedicated to Prague history, which it has accumulated during its existence. It currently manages eight buildings, which house both permanent exhibitions and temporary exhibitions. We organize special events for the public and children.

The neoclassical palace-type house was built in 1845-1847. The painted decoration of the palace is one of the most important works of Czech mural painting of the mid-19th century. The Desfours Palace is closed for planned reconstruction.
