The museum was founded in 1891 at the instigation of the organisers of the Jubilee Exhibition. The individual branches of the National Museum of Agriculture are aimed at covering agriculture and its relevant fields in their scientific research, acquisition and presentation activities in a comprehensive manner.

In a building from the 16th century we run a small museum dedicated to the history of the vanished Podskalí, the life of its inhabitants and the Vltava voyage. Operation of a coffee museum. The display itself is simple, easy to understand and as colourful as coffee in subtropical homes. The museum's collection includes curious, long-forgotten exhibits such as machines for preparing, roasting, grinding and serving coffee.

The museum presents the life's work of the world-renowned filmmaker Karel Zeman and his film tricks that made Czech cinema famous in the 20th century.
