Jakub Michl is a musician and maker of historical string instruments. He also teaches the viola da gamba. In addition to violas da gamba, he crafts medieval string instruments and Renaissance lyres. As an active performer, he is a member of several early music ensembles; he previously worked as a musicologist at the Czech Academy of Sciences.
