The Brno Zoo was founded in 1953 and today covers an area of 65 hectares. It is home to more than 2,000 animals representing approximately 400 different species from around the world. It is open year-round and hosts a wide variety of themed events.

The zoo is specialized in breeding animals originating from the Palearctic region, covering the territory of Eurasia and North Africa. You can observe more than 160 species of animals about 1000 individuals, among which there are 14 endangered species included in European rescue programs.
