The department focuses on teaching, research and consulting activities in the areas of applied electrical engineering, electrical drives, electrical power engineering, electrical measurements, systems modeling and simulation, automation, robotics and flexible manufacturing systems.

We provide teaching of bachelor, master and doctoral degree programs in information technology and technical education. We are engaged in research and development activities with a focus on university, departmental, national and international research grants, tasks and projects.

We run a department providing teaching in the field of physical electronics. We offer courses in instrumentation and computer science, laser technology and optoelectronics, physical electronics, physics of nanostructures, computational physics and information technology. We have a Unix computer lab.

The department provides four-year bachelor's and three-year master's degrees in full-time or combined form. It is also dedicated to the training of future professionals working in the fields of drama education with a focus on theatre performed by children and young people and children's performance.

The department's teaching and research focuses primarily on the development of the field of technology for crop production. Gradually, this focus is being extended to include technology for complex landscape restoration and maintenance. It offers Bachelor and Master studies in Agricultural Technology.

The department provides teaching in the field of keyboard instruments in bachelor, postgraduate and doctoral degree programmes. Teaching focuses on piano, organ and harpsichord.
