The Finance Department is primarily responsible for the annual preparation of the city budget, controlling its implementation and its adjustment by budgetary changes during the year. The department processes data on the withdrawal of driving licences and their restoration or assigns registration plates to road motor vehicles.

The Department of Planning and Historic Preservation operates the departments of the Office of Planning and the Department of Historic Preservation.

The department administers taxes and local fees, assessment, collection and enforcement of local fees, permitting of slot machines, records and leases arising from the use of grave sites, and accounting for all departments in the state and municipal government.
