The department is responsible for the preparation of the city budget, preparation of the final accounts of the city, financial reporting, payment, registration and recovery of receivables, comprehensive administration of local fees, financial management of established contributory organisations and other activities.

The office issues decisions on granting a concession, on suspension of the trade. It keeps the trade register. The Office also acts as the Central Registration Point, cancels trade licences at the entrepreneur's own request, and checks compliance with the obligations laid down in the Trade Licensing Act.
