Our centre is a joint project of six institutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences and two faculties of Charles University in Prague. We focus on research and development in the fields of biotechnology and biomedicine.

The largest botanical research centre in the Czech Republic. It conducts scientific research on vegetation at the level of organisms, populations, communities or ecosystems. It houses and manages the unique Průhonice Park, the Průhonice Botanical Garden and the Třeboň Botanical Garden. It has offices in Brno and Třeboň.

The Research Institute is responsible for the advancement of knowledge and the transfer of knowledge in the sciences of soil conservation, complex land reclamation, pedology, landscape formation and use, and informatics related to these disciplines. It carries out soil and water analyses, operates the SOWAC-GIS geoportal, produces maps and provides data.
