The Centre conducts social science oriented research in the areas of public administration and public sector, politics and European integration or economic competitiveness, security and foreign policy, population development and social cohesion.

We carry out testing of aggregates, soils and ground layers, concrete structures and asphalt mixtures. We provide source assessment of construction materials.

We are engaged in exploratory and targeted research of the atmosphere in its entire vertical range. Scientific activities are developed mainly in the directions of boundary layer atmospheric physics, mesosynoptic and applied meteorology, climatology, aeronomy, upper atmosphere physics and ionospheric and magnetospheric physics.

We carry out research in elementary particle physics, condensed matter systems, solids, optics and plasma. We carry out research work in the field of elementary particles in the framework of large international collaborations. We are involved in astroparticle physics. We work on the interaction of laser radiation with matter.

The Centre conducts theoretical research in various disciplines of exact, natural and human sciences and organizes conferences, workshops and summer schools.

Research and development in the field of medical sciences.

We are engaged in scientific research of plasma physics and its applications. We are involved in research and development of controlled thermonuclear fusion, use of electric discharges, plasma generators, interaction of plasma with other states of matter and waste disposal in plasma streams.

We carry out scientific and research activities in the field of integration of people with disabilities and social services.
