The chateau stands on the site of a former fortress, rebuilt in Baroque style in 1732. The whole area is used for cultural purposes. In summer, there are castle festivals, theatre, summer cinema, children's days and senior citizens' meetings. It is possible to organize weddings.

The Baroque chateau was built under Jan Antonín Vratislav of Mitrovice in 1719-23 by rebuilding the original Renaissance fortress. It is a rectangular two-storey building with a mansard roof, a turret and a balcony. The castle also includes a small park. Currently, the main wing of the castle is open to the public. The construction of the prelature building in the Baroque style, sometimes also called the castle, was carried out in 1698-1701 by P. I. Bayer according to the design of J. B. Mathey.
