Kotul's wooden house is one of the oldest timbered folk buildings in the Těšín region and is one of the branches of the Museum of Těšín. The housing exhibition presents interior furnishings and the way of life at the turn of the 19th and 20th century in the central part of Těšín Silesia. You will see milk processing tools and beekeeping equipment.
We operate a museum with a focus on exhibitions and displays dealing with the personality of Petr Bezruč. The memorial is also a literary archive. There are 200,000 documents from the estates of some 85 writers. We also organise cultural and social events.
The Memorial to a Life Tragedy serves as a permanent reminder of the victims of Nazi atrocities. The Mother Monument, unveiled in 1949, is also a memento of all the victims of the occupation. A building was erected at the memorial in 1982-1984 and houses a permanent museum exhibition.
