The museum focuses on the history of the town of Stráž pod Ralskem. The permanent exhibition contains many exhibits on the history but also the present of the town. It is mainly devoted to important natives, mining but also to old photographs. Another collection is also parachutists, who are an integral part of the history of the town.

Today, visitors can stroll through the living quarters, furnished with inlaid wood furniture, faience, and porcelain from the 18th century or the Biedermeier period, and let themselves be swept away by the atmosphere of Czech Romanticism and Historicism.
