The department deals with the area of state administration in matters of acquiring and improving professional competence to drive motor vehicles.

The department provides legal, advisory and consultancy services for members of the Municipality, legal support in the negotiation of commercial and other relations. It participates in the process of concluding contracts. It keeps records of the city's legal regulations, general binding ordinances of the city districts.

The municipal police provide local public order matters. It deals with offences and illegal actions of offenders, including their arrest. It deals with the protection of the safety of persons and property. It has service dogs and horses, vehicles and equipment.

We perform audit activities focused on the management of the City's funds, property rights and other assets. We control contributory organizations or legal and natural persons to whom funds are provided from the city budget.

Deals with housing policy issues within the city, proposals and assessment of investments and subsidies in the field of housing, registration and rental of apartments. Focus on leases and loans of property (land, buildings and non-residential premises, placement of advertising equipment).

Exercise of delegated powers of state administration and local government in the territory of the Nová Ves municipal district. Provision of Czech POINT services. Operating a cash office and a permanent residence registration office. We verify signatures and documents and issue certificates of identity cards or travel documents.

The department prepares and implements the city's marketing campaigns. It ensures the communication of the strategic plan of the Statutory City of Ostrava and the implemented projects of the city. It supports the areas of congress tourism, business tourism and, in relation to professional tourism, urban and sightseeing tourism.

The department maintains the road vehicle register and decides on the registration of vehicles. Assigns registration plates to road vehicles. Decides on permanent, long term and temporary withdrawal of road vehicles. Approves the roadworthiness of an individually manufactured or converted vehicle.

Substantively and temporally coordinates city construction and related activities affecting city development. For all constructions carried out on the territory of the city and financed from the city budget, it ensures complex activities from the start of construction to its completion and handover to the user.

Providing governmental administration in the areas of movable and immovable city property, restitution, contracts, leases and easements. We handle leases and borrowings of city-owned property or approvals for the placement of utilities, including the execution of easement agreements.

The department creates material and technical requirements for the activities of the city authorities and provides treasury service for citizens and employees.

The department comprehensively represents the interests of the district in the field of education and culture. It is involved in the creation of conditions relating to the comprehensive care of pre-school and primary education, and in the overall development of culture and sport and leisure for children and young people in the district.
