The department provides instruction in Czech language and literature and their history. Students are admitted to two undergraduate majors: Specialization in Education - Czech Language and Literature with a concentration in Education and Philology - Czech Language and Literature.
Centre provides extension courses for teaching staff. There is a strong emphasis on self-learning skills, self-study, activity and freedom in the adult learning process.

The Sports Centre is a research and diagnostic facility in the field of physical and sporting activities of the child and adult population. It provides a comprehensive range of services for athletes in the fields of Sports Medicine, Rehabilitation and Physical Medicine and Physiotherapy.
The department provides training for future German language teachers in the Master's degree programme in Teaching German for the Second Level of Primary Schools. The department offers studies culminating in a Bachelor's degree, with the possibility of transferring to further studies at other European schools or continuing in Liberec.
The department prepares future teachers of civic education. The study focuses on philosophy, political science, history and didactic-practical subjects. Currently, KFL provides service learning for nearly eighty courses in both full-time and distance learning.
The Department of Romance Languages is dedicated to the development of all aspects of Spanish and French philology in teaching and research. As it is a relatively small department, there is scope for close collaboration between students and lecturers in research.
The department provides teaching in the field of thermodynamics of solutions, preparation of special materials, modification of surface properties of fibres and other chemical disciplines. In addition to these professional activities, we contribute to the popularisation of chemistry as a discipline through other events for all age groups.
