Late Gothic church built after the fire of the town in 1515 according to the plans of Jacob Heilmann of Schweinfurt. The monastery was founded in 993 by Prince Boleslav II together with Bishop St. Adalbert. The original structures were Romanesque. The church’s 11th-century crypt has been preserved beneath the Baroque Basilica of St. Margaret. The Baroque complex was built between 1708 and 1745 according to a design by Kryštof and Kilián Ignác Dientzenhofer.

We offer a permanent exhibition of musical instruments, mainly electric guitars of Czechoslovak production and selected keyboard instruments. We also organize short-term exhibitions. We run a city museum. You can see our permanent exhibition Fishing Tradition in Vodnany, which deals with fishery, painting, fishing studies and research. There are fish specimens and fishing equipment on display. We hold regular exhibitions of the work of photographers and artists.

The museum's permanent exhibition presents visitors with the village life of our ancestors and traditional crafts in their historical and contemporary form. A significant part of the exhibition is devoted to emigration to America. Visitors can thus learn about the reasons for emigration, its course and the individual stories of the emigrants themselves.

Tours of the historic monastery. The monastery was intended to prevent the possible expansion of the Vítkov family, who owned the nearby Český Krumlov. Possibility of organizing weddings, conferences.

Tours of the former Cistercian monastery complex. The life of the monastery began in 1144, when it was founded by the then Prince Vladislav II, and its current appearance was influenced by Baroque reconstructions. After the dissolution of the monastery in the 19th century, it became the dominion of the Metternich family. It can host weddings.

Offering tours of the baroque complex. As early as 1696, Count Špork decided to establish a hospital for elderly veterans from the surrounding area on his Hradiště estate. After Špork's spa and residence began to grow on the left bank of the Elbe in Kuks, the opposite, right bank was chosen as the site for the future institution.
