Research, transfer of knowledge from science and research to practice, education, training and publishing in the field of organic farming. We cooperate closely with a number of professional and research institutes in the Czech Republic. We are a member of FiBL International - International Association of Research Institutions in the field of EZ.

The Research Institute is responsible for the advancement of knowledge and the transfer of knowledge in the sciences of soil conservation, complex land reclamation, pedology, landscape formation and use, and informatics related to these disciplines. It carries out soil and water analyses, operates the SOWAC-GIS geoportal, produces maps and provides data.

We are engaged in research, development and application of methods of landscape conservation, creation and care. We carry out integration and coordination of interests in environmental protection. We support research in the field of ornamental horticulture. We provide advice and expertise.

We are dedicated to the conservation and use of natural resources. We focus on improving the characteristics, resistance and health of plants. We run a department of genetics, plant science, agroecology, plant nutrition and field trials. We publish publications and organise exhibitions. We provide expert advice.

Implementation of scientific research activities in the field of cultivation, harvesting and post-harvest treatment of hops. Operation of an experimental microbrewery for quality testing purposes. Addressing the greening of production, protection and quality of hops. We provide analyses of hops.

Organisation of scientific seminars and conferences for users of the results and the wider public. We take care of the all-round development of the individual disciplines of soil science and of the scientific field as a whole in relation to related disciplines. We promote the practical applications of soil science in agriculture and forestry.

We are involved in the inspection of feed, soil and plant nutrition or animal production. We have laboratories to carry out chemical analyses. We focus on organic farming controls and issue exemptions for the use of conventional seeds and seedlings. We organise seminars and issue professional publications.
