The Research Institute is responsible for the advancement of knowledge and the transfer of knowledge in the sciences of soil conservation, complex land reclamation, pedology, landscape formation and use, and informatics related to these disciplines. It carries out soil and water analyses, operates the SOWAC-GIS geoportal, produces maps and provides data.

We are dedicated to the conservation and use of natural resources. We focus on improving the characteristics, resistance and health of plants. We run a department of genetics, plant science, agroecology, plant nutrition and field trials. We publish publications and organise exhibitions. We provide expert advice.

We focus on national park care. We provide environmental education and awareness. We organize events for the public. We specialize in monitoring, research and documentation of natural and cultural heritage in the national park. We deal with the protection of entire ecosystems.
