NROS has been in existence since 1993 and develops its own charitable and socially responsible projects, the most famous being Help the Children. We are one of the most active grantmaking foundations in the Czech Republic. We offer training for non-profit organizations.

The Volunteer Centre of Charity Ostrava involves the public in helping people in need. Anyone aged 15 and over who wants to give their time to others without any remuneration can become a volunteer. Volunteering brings experience, meaningfulness and space for personal growth.

We provide prevention of socially pathological phenomena especially among young people. We offer addiction services for people addicted to drugs, alcohol or gambling machines, for families, for youth and children. We also carry out field work, educational activities.

The centre provides services: professional social counselling, education and information centre and outreach programmes for individuals.

We provide professional counseling, assistance, psychological support, and mediation to families with children or single parents. We develop volunteerism and provide these services in our region, for example in children's homes, hospitals, homes for the elderly and to individuals in their homes. Through social services, we help people in need or at risk of social exclusion. We make life easier for the disabled, the elderly, the homeless, victims of domestic violence and foreigners living in our country. We help in emergencies (floods, fires), we have a Volunteer Centre.
