The archaeological research station at Pohansko near Břeclav is focused on research of the early medieval settlement of the area above the confluence of the Morava and Dyje rivers and the fortified Great Moravian agglomeration at Pohansko, especially on the knowledge of the early medieval social structure, economy and chronology.

We are engaged in scientific research in the field of analytical chemistry, in particular research on analytical and bioanalytical micromethods, nanomethods and methods for the determination of trace concentrations of substances and the development of instrumentation as a basis for increasing the knowledge and methodological level of other scientific disciplines.

AdMaS is a modern science centre and a comprehensive research institution in the field of construction. We focus on the research, development and application of advanced building materials, structures and technologies not only in the construction industry, but also in transport systems and municipal infrastructure.

We perform analysis of solid samples by laser ablation in conjunction with atomic spectrometry, development of plasma excitation sources for spectrochemical analysis and diagnostics of analytical plasmas. For research we use laser ablation systems, ICP-OES spectrometers, ICP-MS spectrometer and monochromator.

We conduct scientific research in the areas of prehistoric and early history in the territory of Moravia and Silesia, mostly based on archaeological sources. We focus on Paleolithic and Paleoethnology research, research into the Roman period and the migration of peoples, and Slavic and medieval archaeology. The Institute publishes scientific publications.

The main purpose of the project is to ensure the operability of the J. G. Mendel Czech Science Station in Antarctica and related structures enabling the implementation of national Antarctic research and development.

We undertake comprehensive scientific research on global change and its manifestations in the atmosphere, terrestrial biota and human society, and on fundamental areas of structure and interaction of biological systems.

We offer testing of forming machines and verification of safety parameters. In particular: measurement of selected technical parameters of products, certification of products, conformity assessment of products, inspection activities, assessment of functional characteristics of products, assessment of compliance with standards and regulations in force abroad.

The institution provides scientific research activities, the solution of scientific projects and the provision of related services, mainly in the field of biological and clinical data analysis, software development, ICT application or the organization and management of clinical trials. It provides courses in the application of informatics in the medical field.

We specialize in research on social and cultural phenomena related to nations and ethnic groups. Currently, the Institute of Ethnology consists of three research departments (historical ethnology, ethnic studies, ethnomusicology) and a scientific information department.

The institute is mainly focused on history in the period from the early modern period to the Second World War. It conducts basic research in the field of Czech, Czechoslovak and general history and is part of a network of domestic and foreign scientific, research and higher education institutions.
