The laboratory carries out immunohematological tests on blood donors and their components (AB0 and RhD groups, other Rh and Kell antigens, irregular antierythrocytic antibodies), as well as the determination of blood groups (AB0 and RhD) and irregular antierythrocytic antibodies in pregnant women, mothers and children after childbirth.

In addition to routine dermatological care in its entirety, including the examination and treatment of venereal diseases, the outpatient clinic provides consular examinations in the differential diagnosis of lower limb edema, with a focus on lymphological issues.

The laboratory performs standard histological processing of tissues taken at autopsy to determine the cause of death. Special staining and immunohistochemical examinations carried out by the Special Methods Department are used to clarify diagnoses.

It is mainly the performance of medical autopsies, forensic autopsies and a complete toxicological service with the analysis of the entire spectrum of substances, including drugs. The Institute of Forensic Medicine cooperates on a broad basis with crime laboratories in our country.

Outpatient clinic for patients after injuries of muscles, tendons, nerves of the hand and also for patients with artificial replacements of small hand joints. In collaboration with an orthopaedic surgeon, traumatologist, doctor of the centre of plastic surgery and hand surgery, the KLR occupational therapist conducts therapy according to methodological lines specific for these injuries.
