Offering studies in education, psychology and applied educational psychology.

We provide undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Economics and Management with a major in Business Economics and Management. Together with the Department of Management and Business, we are involved in providing courses specifically for the needs of these two majors. The courses are designed for both full-time and combined forms of study.

The Department guarantees, within the Bachelor's degree programme Economics and Management, the Bachelor's degree in Economics of Tourism. Within the Bachelor's degree programme Gastronomy, Hotel Management and Tourism, the Department guarantees the specialisation Hotel Management. These courses are taught in full-time form.

We offer tuition in general and applied mathematics, mathematical methods in economics, geometry, mathematical analysis and mathematics teaching. We organise seminars, conferences, summer schools and events for secondary and primary schools.

Offering Banking and Accounting and Taxation at the undergraduate level and Banking is also taught at the postgraduate level. The Department also offers and sponsors the specialisation in Business Finance and the specialisation in Accounting and Taxation within the field of Business Economics in Trade and Services.

The department ensures the use of information technology in the teaching process as well as in the operation of study, economic and administrative agencies. It manages the faculty's computer network. It operates the comprehensive information system of the faculty. It participates in the teaching of informatics subjects.

Offering a degree with a humanities and science focus. Master's and doctoral studies include student involvement in research and artistic activities at the national and international level. Successful students are offered opportunities to complete part of their studies at partner institutions abroad.

The department guarantees the Bachelor and postgraduate degree in European Integration. The aim of the programme is to prepare graduates for practice whose knowledge is in line with modern trends in the field of European integration and who reflect the requirements of both the Czech and European labour market.

The Institute of Physics in Opava is the successor of the Institute of Physics, which was part of the Faculty of Philosophy and Science of the Silesian University in Opava since 1991

We offer studies in theoretical and applied physics in bachelor's, master's and doctoral programmes. Teaching is intertwined with the scientific activities of the Institute and theoretical students have the opportunity to engage in cutting-edge research at an international level.

The institute ensures the organisation of doctoral studies and manages the administrative and study agenda of doctoral study programmes. It coordinates all content and administrative activities with other departments, especially with training departments and partner institutions.

The department provides teaching of basic and advanced courses in undergraduate computer science, mathematics and statistics in all disciplines and all forms of study. In the field of science and research, the department focuses mainly on information systems in relation to business practice, modelling and simulation of economic systems.
