The department focuses on teaching and research in the areas of monetary economics, international trade and finance, probability theory and mathematical statistics.

We provide teaching in seven specialisations (fields): indology, Tibetan studies, Mongolian studies, Indonesian studies, Vietnamese studies, Korean studies, Japanese studies in bachelor's, master's and doctoral programmes. In all specializations, the emphasis is on mastery of the language.

We provide Latin lessons in the master's degree programme or English studies for all students of the faculty. We offer English conversation courses with a native speaker as well as German, French and Spanish courses, including preparation for the CFC international language exam.

We provide instruction in general hygiene for all faculty majors. We are engaged in publishing activities.

We provide instruction in all forms of spa medicine.

We offer undergraduate nursing and graduate programs in medicine and dentistry.

The department provides instruction in the field of physical education for students of the college. We have a climbing wall, a Bouldering wall, a sports center, the Troy boathouse, and a yoga center.

We provide teaching of bachelor studies in Czech language and literature and master studies in Czech language and literature, teaching Czech language and literature for secondary schools or comparative studies. We also offer teaching of doctoral studies in Czech literature and general and comparative literature.

We provide a single-subject three-year bachelor's degree and a full-time follow-up master's degree. We are engaged in research and publishing activities and strive for foreign cooperation.
