The department is responsible for administrative proceedings concerning the granting of consent for the management of hazardous waste, the abandonment of sorting or separate collection of waste. It keeps and processes records of waste and waste management methods. Handles requests for collection of municipal waste.

The Department of Cemetery Administration deals with the operation of cemeteries within the borough and the provision of maintenance of war graves and memorial sites.
