The department is responsible for administrative proceedings concerning the granting of consent for the management of hazardous waste, the abandonment of sorting or separate collection of waste. Provides comprehensive support and preparation activities for all constructions in the city territory, from their procurement to the entry into force of the building permit, financed from the city budget.

The department prepares and implements the city's marketing campaigns. It ensures the communication of the strategic plan of the Statutory City of Ostrava and the implemented projects of the city. It supports the areas of congress tourism, business tourism and, in relation to professional tourism, urban and sightseeing tourism.

The department issues travel documents and identity cards.

The municipal police provide local public order matters. It deals with offences and illegal actions of offenders, including their arrest. It deals with the protection of the safety of persons and property. It has service dogs and horses, vehicles and equipment.

The unit carries out an independent review and evaluation of the adequacy of management control, economy, efficiency and effectiveness of the Authority's activities. It performs financial, public management audits of the management of public funds of the contributory organizations established by the district.

The task of the department is to process applications for consent to place utilities on land owned by the Statutory City of Ostrava and related property settlements.

We provide government administration in the field of environmental protection and creation, water management or agriculture. We carry out administration in the field of waste management, veterinary and plant care and animal protection against cruelty.

We provide the performance of state administration in the field of motor vehicle registration, misdemeanors and administrative offenses in road traffic. We receive and process applications for driving licences and provide traffic psychological examinations when applying for reinstatement of driving licences.
