The institute provides teaching in the second and higher years of undergraduate studies. It participates in the education of students in the doctoral programme in seminars and courses in the Theory of Railway Superstructure and Theory of Railway Substructure, which are focused on advanced analysis and design of these structures.

The institute provides teaching in the fields of Construction Realization, Construction Management and Construction Materials Engineering. It is focused on the areas of construction process technology, construction machinery and mechanisation in construction, pre-production and production preparation of construction, planning and management of construction implementation.

It provides and organises the study of Physical Engineering, which has two specialisations: engineering optics and advanced physics technologies.

Possibility of internships or foreign stays or international cooperation. The Institute organises courses for metallographic and mechanical laboratory staff.

The mission of the institute is theoretical training of students in architecture and urban planning. The courses taught are directed towards the fundamentals of architecture with the aim of acquainting students with the spatial, material and form aspects of the essence of architectural work.
