Seminary provides instruction in art history. Teaching specializes in a center for early medieval studies, a research center for the history of Central Europe, or the art and culture of early modern Moravia. We publish the journal Seminars in Art History. We cooperate with galleries or art museums.

Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in theatre theory and history. We conduct research on ancient drama and theatre, medieval theatre, Czech translations of William Shakespeare, Czech drama and drama theatre, or trends in modern and postmodern scenography.

Teaching in general, developmental, counselling and educational psychology, pathopsychology, psychology of mental development, health, work and organisation. Study focuses on elementary school teaching and general education teaching. We also offer a pedagogical study in art therapy.

Teaching Czech language and literature, Czech grammar, development of written Czech, Czech dialectology. We offer study of lexicology, onomastics and other linguistic disciplines. We are involved in projects in the field of toponymy, bohemistics and computer science or linguistic use.

Operation of an administrative archive. Providing care for archival records arising from the University's activities. The archive acquires the personal funds of important scientific and pedagogical personalities or the written estates of Otakar Borůvka, František Trávníček, Ferdinand Herčík, Josef Šafařík, František Weyr and Vladislav Kruta.

The department provides teaching in the field of social policy and social work. We provide the opportunity to participate directly in research activities. We also offer internships at foreign universities and colleges.

Teaching medical biophysics to students in medical degree courses, undergraduate studies in basic physics, biophysics, bioenergetics, and graduate studies in medical instrumentation. We also provide preparatory courses focusing on basic concepts, laws of motion, gravitational fields or kinetic energy.

We prepare future teachers of civic education and basic social sciences. The study focuses on social sciences from philosophy to economics. We also specialize in philosophical areas such as ethics, ontology, bioethics, philosophical anthropology and human ecology or political science.

We offer training for future physics teachers, focusing on the basics of general physics, chemistry, applied mathematics, computer work and modelling of physical situations. The department specializes in inorganic and organic chemistry, biochemistry, laboratory technology or chemical calculations.

We prepare future geography teachers for primary and secondary schools. Teaching regional geography, environmental education, cartography and providing field activities for students. We carry out research and publication activities in the fields of geoecology, geoinformatics and didactics of geography.

The Centre operates as a university library with access to library collections and integrated electronic and multimedia information resources.
