The institute is engaged in research and teaching in the areas of differential geometry, potential theory, mathematical modeling in physics, and the history of mathematics.

The institute provides teaching in the field of chemistry of solids. It offers bachelor, master and doctoral degree programmes. It is involved in research on applications of X-ray diffraction methods in pharmaceutical fields, applied mineralogy and heavy metal transport in the environment.

The Department prepares students for bachelor and master degree programmes in biology education, provides teaching practice for students and specialisation teaching.

Training future producers, managers and independent producers to work in theatres, acting companies, cultural and artistic agencies. The three-year undergraduate and two-year graduate program provides an orientation in economics and law with emphasis on application in arts operations.

The Department provides teaching of pedological subjects at all faculties of the Czech University of Life Sciences. It focuses on teaching pedology, soil chemistry and physics, soil mapping and soil conservation.

We provide teaching of courses in experimental plant biology at bachelor, master and doctoral level. We conduct research in the fields of ecophysiological anatomy, physiological anatomy, cell morphogenesis or cell biology and plant biotechnology.
