The department provides teaching of a wide but specialized range of subjects of zoological and hunting nature. The basis of the teaching consists of subjects related to hunting management and zoology. An important research area is the study of the spatial activity of game.

We provide instruction in the field of forensic medicine.

Providing instruction in basic and special courses in mathematics, data processing, computing and programming for students of all forms, disciplines and years of faculty. We conduct research activities focusing on the application of mathematics and computing in the sciences.

We are involved in teaching undergraduate courses and provide a Master's degree in Discrete Models and Algorithms. We are engaged in research activities and organize professional conferences and workshops.

We provide instruction in undergraduate and graduate programs in psychosocial studies combined with a program in Hussite and Orthodox theology. The Department is a member of the Association of Social Work Educators in the Czech Republic. We are engaged in research and publication activities.

We provide teaching of subjects according to the study programs of the Faculty of Technical Education and Sports, scientific and publishing activities, additional activities in the areas of swimming, diving, canoeing, rowing, windsurfing, yachting, water tourism, downhill and cross-country skiing, biathlon, shooting, parachuting and other related sports.

We provide instruction in Latin, Old Greek, Modern Greek or Latin Medieval Studies in both undergraduate and graduate programs.

The department provides teaching of Bachelor and Master studies in the field of Teaching of Mathematics for the 1st and 2nd level of primary and secondary schools as well as doctoral studies. It carries out research activities focusing on the teaching profession in the changing demands of education.

The department provides full-time, combined and postgraduate forms of study, including cooperation in the doctoral studies of members of the armed forces of the Czech Republic. We organize preparatory courses for admission and courses of physical activities.

The institute is significantly involved in teaching undergraduate students in the fields of obesitology, diabetes, physiology and pathophysiology of metabolism and physical medicine, and teaching postgraduate students.

We provide master and doctoral studies in Biophysics and Chemical Physics and participate in the provision of Optics and Optoelectronics. We carry out research on molecular and biological complexes and their theoretical and computational modelling.

The department is engaged in research of geophysical phenomena, organizes professional seminars and provides teaching for bachelor, master and doctoral programs.

We provide teaching of bachelor and post-graduate courses in Music Education, Choirmastery and Instrument Playing or doctoral course in Music Theory and Pedagogy. We are engaged in publishing and scientific activities.

The institute provides teaching in the field of environmental chemistry. It offers bachelor, master and doctoral degree programs and lifelong learning. We deal with issues of environmental microbiology, ecotoxicology and environmental impacts. We perform environmental sampling and analysis.
