The observatory is a contributory organization of the Zlín Region. We are engaged in educational, popularization, professional and observation activities.

The Vsetín Observatory organizes tours, observations and popular events for the public focused on astronomy, cosmonautics and other natural sciences. Visitor attractions include an observation dome with a large telescope, a unique model of the Solar System, an interactive sundial and the Czech Meteorological Institute's weather station.

We organize astronomy clubs. We offer programs for the public and schools, screenings at the Observatory Cinema and evening night sky observing.

We offer spherical screenings of educational and entertaining fulldome films about the stars and the universe in an inflatable planetarium - on site, wherever you invite us.

We operate an observatory equipped with a mirror telescope with a diameter of 25 cm. You can observe galaxies, star clusters, nebulae and sunspots. The observatory also has a solar filter, so observation is not limited to nighttime viewing. We organize space lectures not only for schools and kindergartens.

The planetarium has a projection dome with a diameter of 6 metres. It is suspended from the ceiling on a light alloy structure and is textile-based with vacuum technology. The planetarium projection system is single chip with 4k resolution. The seats are tiered into two rows of seating and can accommodate 26 people.
