We specialize in research or development in the areas of digital libraries, healthware, large-scale distributed systems, and multimedia processing. We provide services in the deployment of information and communication technologies.

Department offering studies in sociology, gender studies and social anthropology. Teaching focuses on significant social issues in today's world. We develop methodological training and specialize in promoting analytical competence.

Teaching practical English language with a focus on translation, linguistics, methodology, literature and culture of English-speaking countries. We specialize in publishing in both English and Czech. We carry out scientific activities, research and development activities and work on development projects.

The department provides instruction in music education and theory, applied music semiotics and semantics. Specializes in the composition and performance of contemporary music. We carry out scientific, professional activities focused on music sociology, axiology or aesthetics. We publish study texts, textbooks and monographs.

The institute provides teaching of Czech and world history from prehistoric to modern history. Studies are also devoted to auxiliary historical sciences and history of history. It conducts research in the fields of history for Central Europe and engages in projects focused on modern history and innovation studies.
