The University of Ostrava provides higher education in bachelor, master, further master and doctoral study programmes. We offer the opportunity to study various disciplines at the Faculty of Social Studies, Faculty of Arts or Faculty of Philosophy, Medicine, Education or Science.

Faculty offering degree programs in general medicine and non-medical health professions. The faculty includes the departments of internal medicine, surgery, anatomy, histology and embryology or biomedical sciences, pathological anatomy and forensic medicine as well as others.

The Department provides teaching of subjects in the study programmes at the Faculty of Arts of the OU and specialised teaching of Latin and medical terminology at the Faculty of Medicine of the OU. The scientific research activities of the Department are oriented towards Latin and Latin culture of the ancient, medieval and modern periods.

The faculty provides teaching in philosophy, social policy and social work, historical sciences, philology, general theory and history of art and culture. The faculty includes the departments of philosophy, German studies, history, psychology, sociology, Czech language or the department of Romance studies and others.

The basic research goal of the Centre is to investigate the socio-cultural horizons of medieval man across social stratification in order to bring the culture of (not only) Central Europe in the medieval period closer to us.

The faculty provides education in both undergraduate and graduate programs focusing on the natural sciences. The faculty includes the departments of biology and ecology, physics, chemistry, computer science and computers, physical geography and geoecology, mathematics and the department of social geography and regional development.

The Department offers a full-time Bachelor's degree in Sociology - either as an independent study or as a combined study, in which Sociology can be studied in combination with another discipline. Our teaching emphasizes the integration of theoretical and methodological knowledge and practical skills.

The Centre was established as an organizational unit of the Faculty of Science of the University of Ostrava primarily to implement a project called the Institute of Environmental Technologies.

The faculty provides higher education in bachelor, master, post-master and doctoral degree programs. The faculty includes departments of wind instruments, keyboard instruments, string instruments, solo voice, intermedia, graphic arts and drawing, painting, sculpture and others.

The main tasks of the Centre are to expand the frontiers of knowledge in the field of kinanthropology; to transfer research results to the general public; to provide high professional support for student education; to cooperate with the commercial sphere in the field of body composition measurement and physical ability testing.
