The department provides education in the field of civic education. We offer the possibility of combined and full-time study of the Bachelor's degree program in Civic Education with a focus on education or the follow-up Master's degree program in Civic Education Teaching for 2nd grade elementary school.

The Department guarantees the Bachelor's degree programme Teaching for Kindergartens in full-time and combined form and, in cooperation with the KCD, the Master's degree programme Teaching for Primary Schools in full-time and combined form.

The department provides teaching in organic and inorganic chemistry and chemistry didactics. We offer the possibility to study the Bachelor's degree in Chemistry and the postgraduate degree in Analytical Chemistry of Solid Phase or the PhD degree in Analytical Chemistry of Heterogeneous Systems.

A research institute dedicated to research on regional issues, especially in terms of literary and artistic traditions. The institute is concerned with the study of regions in the Czech and Central European context and their inspiring role in cultural and artistic production.

The department provides teaching of mathematics and didactics of mathematics in the teacher education programme for the first stage of primary schools. We offer the possibility of studying a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics with a focus on Education and a follow-up Master's degree in Mathematics Teaching for Primary School Level 2.

We deal with additional, extension and specialisation studies. We focus on research activities in the field of complementary educational studies in education. We develop study materials and carry out innovations in the specialisation study of school management and educational counselling.

The department provides teaching in the field of surgery with a focus on standardization of surgical procedures in minimally invasive surgery. We provide teaching of theoretical and practical surgical specialties in gynecology, surgery, obstetrics, cardiac surgery, neurosurgery, ophthalmology and others.

Department provides education in internal medicine. We provide instruction in pediatrics, neurology, dermatology, infectious disease medicine, geriatrics and psychiatry.

The centre is aimed at the possibility of research concentration, exploitation of domestic and foreign libraries and archives or publication of the results achieved. The department carries out research on the problems of the historical process of modernization and analysis with emphasis on its anthropological dimension.

The department provides professional training for teacher education students. It offers the possibility to study Bachelor's degree programmes in Education and Social Pedagogy or a follow-up Master's degree programme in Social Pedagogy.

The Centre focuses on research on linguistic phenomena characteristic of English and German professional language and on research on professional discourse. The areas of research are the linguistic specificities of English and German technical, economic, scientific and medical texts and their comparison with English.

The department's teaching of Czech language focuses on the history of linguistics, the Czech language of the Baroque period, and the analysis of historical texts. We provide instruction in basic linguistics, historical grammar, general linguistics, and other required electives.
