The library is a specialist library and information centre. It collects books, documents and periodicals on music. There is a study room, players, two audio-visual studios and a computer park.

The Foundation provides support for the artistic and educational activities of members of the academic community of the Faculty of Music and activities related to these activities. This includes support to underwrite specific artistic and pedagogical projects, to cover expenses associated with student participation in competitions.

The department carries out teaching at bachelor, master and doctoral level, focusing on the field of imaginary pantomime, clownery and grotesque. Teaching also focuses on improvisation, original work, theory and history of mime theatre, tap and basic acting training.

The cabinet assists in the acquisition of technology and physical fitness. Provides instruction in movement disciplines such as training, dance, stage movement and acrobatics. The cabinet also teaches electives such as fencing, tap and flamenco.

The Cabinet provides graduate studies in teaching speaking technique, stage speech, singing, artistic delivery, melodrama, dubbing and radio acting. It develops the psychosomatic prerequisites of vocal and speech expression.

The department provides teaching of three-year Bachelor and two-year Master of Arts in Theory and Criticism. It is the supervisor of the doctoral studies in the theory of theatre production. It also offers teaching in the historical and theoretical basis of the Academy's disciplines.

The cabinet deals with subjects such as film and television technology, photoprocessing theory, laboratory film processing and trick and digital technology. It provides instruction in film and television image theory and technique in English for international students.

The department offers a three-year bachelor's degree and a two-year follow-up master's degree. It provides instruction in film and television scriptwriting and dramaturgy.

The institute operates as a scientific department of the Faculty of Music, where music theory is cultivated and developed as an independent scientific discipline. It regularly organises professional conferences, concerts and performances.

The institute is engaged in the research of dance in terms of the history of dance culture and issues of dance analysis and notation. It is also engaged in publishing activities.
