The institute provides teaching of foreign languages and history of veterinary medicine. In the field of language education it focuses on Latin, English and German. In the field of teaching the history of veterinary medicine, it focuses on the cultural and professional history of veterinary medicine and on ethical issues in the veterinary profession.

The department trains future art teachers. Teaching is based on a contemporary view of the visual arts and their function in society, and seeks to harmonize the rich artistic traditions of the city.

The laboratory is accredited according to ČSN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018 and offers analysis of food, beverages, food supplements, crops and natural products, biological samples and environmental components. It specializes in pesticides, contaminants, natural toxins and biologically active substances, including addictive and metabolomics.
